Architecturally Exposed Steel Structures (AESS)

AESS must be designed to support the primary needs of the current structure, while at the same time being exposed to view and forming a significant part of the architectural language of the building. AESS require specific understanding of the varying approaches to connection design, fabrication and finishing and how these impact the entire project in numerous ways. AESS always is a product of close collaboration between the architect and the structural engineer during the detailed visible steel systems design.
